2009 Hella-Fast Outrigger R/C : David Brandt, of R/CU fame, has got a new toy. It's a twin engine outrigger hydroplane and it is Hella-Fast. It's so fast I got dizzy watching it and fell in the river (No, it was not because I was a clumsy dumba$$). That is my story and I am sticking to it.

2008 R/C Gold Cup : My final event of 2008! The annual R/CU Gold Cup found good weather and lumpy water on its second day of action. David Newton won a popular victory, claiming both the Gold Cup and Norm Evans memorial trophy. David Brandt won yet another driver's title, despite stuffing his boat in the final.

2008 R/C Roger Newton Memorial Silver Cup : It makes me sad I even have to title a gallery "Roger Newton Memorial". R/CU got together this weekend in Granger planning to run the Silver Cup. A cruel twist of fate resulted in the name change we have today. Roger Newton passed away the day before the event, and this race will be forever renamed the Roger Newton Memorial. As spiraling fuel costs continued to take their toll on the fleet, R/CU celebrated its founder by continuing to race after his passing. Everyone agreed, this would be what Roger would have wanted. Goodbye Roger, we will miss you.

2008 R/C Bill Muncey Memorial : I don't know what is worse, going to an R/C race in freezing cold temperatures and hail or meeting Roger Newton's hellish photo upload deadlines. R/CU continued to suffer from extreme racing weather ath the 2008 Bill Muncey Memorial. At the Atomic Cup it was cold and windy. At the Bill Muncey Memorial it was freezing and hailed. When is it going to be spring anyway? THe bad weather spured on a quick program that was probably the fastes R/C race I have ever been to. It also had a lot of great competition, with David Brandt 'snorking' the field in the final with his new PICO boat.

2007 R/C Gold Cup : Photos from the 2007 R/C Gold Cup held in Chelan Washington. The 2007 R/CU Gold Cup featured some of the best crash shots I have taken to date. Unfortunately, this means a lot of boats crashed. At least 6 boats hit the rocks, one of which was completely destroyed. The weather was also abysmal on Sunday. Worse than abysmal, actually. But it was a good test of High ISO shooting for the Canon Cameras. Also check out the Big Boats that were demoed on Saturday.

2007 R/C Governor's Cup : A field of 18 boats raced for the annual R/CU Governor's Cup in Granger Washington. This race produced one of the most exciting consolation heats in recent memory, as three boats led at various points during the heat. A series of mishaps in the final few heats left two boats beached and broken as well as one at the bottom of the Hisey Park lagoon as Dave Brandt cruised to victory in the Pico American Dream.

Diamond Cup 2005 : Photos from the rcunlimiteds.org Diamond Cup 2005. Held at Rock Island, Wa. This was an interesting location to photograph. The lake is basically in sort of a pit. So, it allowed me to photograph a lot of shots from above. It sort of gave the gallery a "Kiro Chopper 7 at Seafair" look.
