A field of 18 boats raced for the annual R/CU Governor's Cup in Granger Washington. This race produced one of the most exciting consolation heats in recent memory, as three boats led at various points during the heat. A series of mishaps in the final few heats left two boats beached and broken as well as one at the bottom of the Hisey Park lagoon as Dave Brandt cruised to victory in the Pico American Dream.
